Why “free mahjong no ads” is a messy search
A lot of pages that rank for those words are Mahjong solitaire. Some are genuinely easy to open. Many of them pay for that with banners or a full-screen ad between puzzles, or they unlock a “no ads” switch only after an account or a purchase. That can still be the right product if you wanted a matching game. It is the wrong product if you wanted the table your family plays.
Other browser Hong Kong tables are closer. Some are free to try and then ask for a membership, a login, or a lobby full of strangers. Read the rule name and the account wall before you send a link to relatives. Table Mahjong’s version of free is narrower: the Hong Kong table, in the browser, without an ad break and without a required account.
Mahjong Soul is also the wrong comparison for this phrase. It is a strong ranked Riichi game, usually played through an account, with its own cosmetics. It is not a no-signup Hong Kong table. The Soul comparison and the alternatives guide go further on that split.
